We are happy to share Natalie and Dee’s wedding at First Baptist Church of Trussville. Natalie has easily been crowned “Hampton Road’s Most Excited Bride Ever”! Natalie was excited all day and her excitement was contagious. I heard one guest say “You’re so excited, it’s making me so excited for you.” Natalie was not the only one excited, Dee was so very excited to be marrying her.

Now for the things we loved most about their wedding …

Natalie and Dee did not see each other before the ceremony. The moment he saw her as she started down the aisle, his face just lit up! As they walked up the steps to say their vows, you can hear Dee whisper “Stunning.” Now tell me that does not make you want to melt!

We love the emotion in their voice as they repeated their vows. You can hear in their voice that Natalie and Dee meant every single word.

Natalie loves bling! Her shirt spelled out Bride in bling, she was dressed in bling and her wedding cake was the epitome of bling. It was covered from top to bottom with shimmery bling and was on a cake stand that sparkled from across the room.

However, not to be outdone by Natalie, Dee’s groom’s cake was a table of chocolate tastiness. His cake paid homage to the joy and goodness of Little Debbie. Nutter Butters and Fudge Rounds covered his chocolate cake.

A few other food highlights of the reception were, burgers, fries and freshly made milkshakes. They wanted their wedding to completely represent them! And it did.

Natalie and Dee chose not to see each other before the ceremony and did not want to miss their reception taking pictures. So their photographer, Jessica Wright, chose to do a photo session with just the two of them after the reception. We all had so much fun! There were no pressures with time and no worries of the dress getting dirty. Plus, the joy of being newly married, made them glow.

One highlight from their “after the wedding” session was their first dance by the river. Matt provided their first song, “In The Name of Love” by U2. (I think it is because he secretly wishes that was his first dance song.) We also took an adventure into the river. Natalie was up for anything! There are not many brides who would walk down an embankment to get photos made in the river while wearing stillettos.

Congratulations Natalie and Dee! We had a blast!

We started out at the Birmingham Botanical Gardens and then headed to Homewood for a few more shots. We had so much fun hanging out with them! Our hearts soar seeing them both so happy and in love.

We cannot wait for their wedding in August!

A couple of weeks ago we traveled up towards Nashville, Tennessee for Sutton and Pete’s wedding. We love any chance we get to travel to Nashville! The city is beautiful with a great vibe, plus we get Hybrid Priority Parking.

Sutton and Pete’s wedding was at Wolf Den Farms in Brentwood, Tennessee. As we rounded the corner, we were instantly excited to see the barn and pastures of horses. It was simply breathtaking!

There are so many favorites from Sutton and Pete’s wedding ….

First off, Sutton and Pete were our favorite part of the whole day! The happiness in their eyes as they said their vows and danced was so sweet. They are both the sweetest people and simply enjoyed the day and had fun. Have you ever seen a cuter couple skip down the aisle after they were married?

The burlap linens with lace overlays, along with mason jars and wine glasses, were the perfect visual description of their wedding day … rustic and elegant.

I fell in love with their succulent boutonnieres and the subtle succulents in the bridal bouquet.

Sutton’s dad gave some wonderful advice during the reception that all married couples need to hear. “May your love be modern to survive the times, but old fashion enough to last forever.” How wonderful is that?

With Big Event Wedding you never know what surprises will show up! For example, fun masks were passed out to all of the guests midway through the night, Finally, Sutton and Pete were surprised with an antique GM truck to leave in. The perfect getaway for the farm!

After watching Sutton and Pete’s story, you will fall in love with them!

Laura and Justin had the definition of a princess wedding, from the string quintet that moved the guests during the ceremony to dancing on top of the world at The Club. Laura was gorgeous and Justin could not take his eyes off of her.

Our favorite moments of the day …

When Justin first saw Laura, all he could say was “Oh my, Oh my …”. To translate, I think that means Laura did a phenomenal job on choosing just the right wedding dress! I love the little spin, so Justin could see the whole dress.

After their first sight at Covenant Presbyterian Church, their photographer David Shirk, took them to Samford to do their couple photos. This was a great idea! It gave Justin and Laura time to just be with each other (without interruption) and before the day’s events got into full swing. Plus, the imagery was beautiful!

There were so many family heirlooms throughout the wedding. I’ll name just a few. Laura’s garter was worn by her mother and grandmother at their weddings. The penny in Laura’s shoe was also worn by her mother and grandmother, and was dated the year of her grandmother’s birth. The lace on her bouquet and bridal cake table was from the wedding dress that her mother and her grandmother wore. How precious is the connection between this family’s three generations of love stories?

One of my favorite moments of the day was when Justin gave Laura a bible with her “soon-to-be” name on it. What a perfect gift!! This has to be one of my favorite wedding day gifts!

And finally … because every bride should feel “on top of the world” on her wedding day, the views from The Club made you feel like that. The lights from the Birmingham skyline made the evening so romantic.
